It is believed that these frozen foods, mostly vegetables and sweetcorn, are linked to a Hungarian freezing factory which suffered a listeria outbreak. There have now been 49 products recalled, with 43 products pulled last week and more now added to the list. Listeria outbreak: Full list revealed as Tesco, Lidl and Audi recall more food items. According to the Food Standards Agency foods carrying the bacteria are frozen vegetables, but mainly sweetcorn.
The FSA has identified 47 cases of listeria over the past three years, which spans over four countries. In India, Tesco has a partnership with the Tata group's retail operations company, Trent, for a cash-and-carry business.
According to Neville-Rolfe, the new model also requires partnership. Asked whether Tesco would partner Tata, she said the company was yet to decide on the matter.
Earlier in the day, Neville-Rolfe attended a session addressed by Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, who said that the decision to open more space for FDI would not be rolled back at any cost.
